Spring has finally sprung for us in the good ol' Midwest and we're being graced with those April showers to bring May flowers. The good news is it's washing away the literal tons of salt spread on the roads over the course of the winter. The bad news is there is a good chance you vehicle took a beating during winter.  Did you know the entire month of April is Car Care Month? Well now you do!  What a perfect time to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape for the year!

Interesting fact:

That's a HUGE number! How can you avoid being a part of the 84%? We're glad you asked! Below are just a few simple steps you can take to ensure the longevity of your vehicle:

1. Complete Detail - interior, exterior, the works! Salt carried by your boots in the winter can wreak havoc on your floor mats and overall interior of your vehicle, not to mention it can cause rust and corrosion to the exterior and undercarriage of your vehicle. If you're not wanting to break your back with detailing your own vehicle or just simply don't have the time, give Anderson-Weber a call and schedule your complete detail with us today!
2. Inspect the exterior of your vehicle. Check for cracks, dents, or scratches from getting up close and personal with snowbanks in the winter. If you notice anything, here is your opportunity to get them fixed before causing you a bigger headache down the road. Your windshield is a big one here too! All too often, rogue ice or debris can cause a small crack in your windshield - get it taken care of ASAP! This way a small problem doesn't turn into a big one later on down the road.
3. Schedule a routine maintenance check up. Even if you're not quite due for service yet on your vehicle, a multi-point inspection can ensure optimal performance and safety. During your multi-point inspection, we'll check the condition of your tires, all of your belts and hoses, lights (inside and out!), and a multitude of other thing!
4. Replace your wiper blades. The cold harsh winter climate can damage your blades. Check them over for dryness, cracks, or dry-rotting and replace them if needed.
5. Last but not least - get your alignment checked. Especially this time of the year when the snow has melted away and pot holes start to show their ugly faces, your alignment can get out of whack pretty easily. Proper alignment will ensure your tires are wearing evenly and that your car is handling as it should.
